About Us

The Buffalo County Economic Development Council was formed in 1986 and has worked closely with city, county and state leaders to make Kearney & Buffalo County more attractive to businesses for 22 years.  A non-profit corporation that supports and promotes responsible and sustainable economic development, the Council’s board and staff are comprised of a diverse group of management and business professionals.

The Council is funded from a combination of sources including the City of Kearney, Buffalo County and 30 private businesses.

Whether you are a local company or a business visitor, the Council can provide information about financial resources, government advocacy, building and land inventories, economic and demographic information as well as assistance with labor training resources.  The Council strives to develop and implement programs designed to promote startup, relocation, expansion and retention of business in Kearney and Buffalo County area.
